This is the beginning. This is Sadako before she became the woman on the videotape that kills. I really enjoyed this prequel. The story does explain what happened to Sadako and the beginning of the videotape. The performances were top-notch and the storyline balances the horror with heart.  If this film was made before Ringu I think it could have become the worldwide phenomenal that Ringu did.
