Dawn of the Dead (2004)

Rated R

Based on George Romero’s 1978 film. Dawn of the Dead takes place after a plague when millions of people turn into cannibalistic zombies. A group of survivors hold up in a shopping mall. Starring Sarah Polley, Ving Rhames, Jake Weber, Mekhi Phifer, Ty Burrell, Lindy Booth

To me, this is one of the best zombie flicks out there. This isn’t your typical zombie movie. It doesn’t have  a screaming woman who can’t help herself. It doesn’t have your typical Hollywood ending to a zombie film and it keeps you on your toes. There was one interesting point that I didn’t really think about until the end of the film. It was the ending, I don’t want to give it away so I’ll say one thing; I don’t believe the Great Lakes have many islands out in the middle of them. Just saying. Other words, Loved it.
