‘Tis the Season for Love (2015) Rated TV-G

Tis the season for loveA struggling actress comes home for the holidays and realizes that the fulfillment of her dreams may not be so far away. Starring Sarah Lancaster, Brendan Penny, Gwynyth Walsh.

Here is another enjoyable Hallmark Christmas film made this year. Lancaster is brilliant as the down-on-her-luck actress trying to decide whether there is more to life than her acting dreams.  Unfortunately, the pacing of the film felt rushed at times, as if the director was using scenes just to push the story ahead.  Even so, the story is engaging, especially knowing the difficult decision Lancaster will have to make at the end.

I struggled with the handling of the ending, though.  If she was talking to her mother, than meeting her friends, you’d think she would have been aware of the change in plans for the Christmas program, but she instead appeared surprised, which didn’t make much sense to me.

Despite some minor flaws, this is still a sweet Hallmark Christmas film and worth a watch.
