The Nativity (1978)

Rated NR

The courtship of Mary and Joseph leading up to the first Christmas. Starring Madeleine Stowe, John Shea, Jane Wyatt, John Rhys-Davies,

I had a number of issues with this film for one, it was not biblical sound. Mary was portrayed as a defiant young woman not a woman who wanted to honor God. I’m not saying that she wouldn’t have had issues with the laws but I doubt she would have acted on them. I disliked that immensely. The film also did not follow time period or the law, it’s like the filmmakers didn’t do their research or that they didn’t care thinking that it wouldn’t matter, just make something entertaining. Well, It wasn’t entertaining because it wasn’t truthful. If I were you I wouldn’t watch this. If I could give it one star, I would give it a fourth of a star, out of five.
