Are You There, Chelsea? (NBC)

Rated NR

Based on Chelsea Handler’s book, Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea. Starring Laura Prepon, Lauren Lapkus, Jake McDorman, Mark Povinelli, Ali Wong

I love Chelsea Handler. I know that might surprise some of you but I do. I’ve followed her career since she was on the tv show, Girls Behaving Badly. I was so rooting for this show but alas, it’s hard to like. It was hard to see Laura Prepon acting like Chelsea Handler and who wrote this show too many clichés. If Chelsea wrote it I would be surprised or sitcoms are not for her. It doesn’t have her dry sense of humor that I love so much. Surprisingly, I was even put off my her character. I don’t know if I’m just used to her portraying herself or if she isn’t used to playing another character, but she was horrible. I hope they could do better but I’m not counting my chickens before their hatched.
