Red Dawn (1984)

Rated PG-13

A group of teenagers witness the start of World War III and ban together to help save their home town. Starring Patrick Swayze, C. Thomas Howell, Lea Thompson, Charlie Sheen, Jennifer Grey

Although, this film was made during the height of the cold war, the film did not give much of a background to the cold war or the reasoning behind World War III. It was also one of the most violent films of its time. As unrealistic that the film is, it still pulls off the notion that this could happen and these kids could save their home town. It’s a great nostalgic film.
