Mama (2013) Rated PG-13

MamaAn Uncle and his girlfriend take in his nieces who have been left in the woods for 5 years. Starring Jessica Chastain, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Megan Charpentier

Mama is a smart story that doesn’t lean the horror side too much. There were plots that didn’t add up, like the cabin in the woods, where did it come from and why is it in 60s/70s decoration.  Andrés Muschietti does give you a couple of scared moments. I did jump a couple of times even when I knew what was coming. The film did enthrall me until the end when they left it open for a sequel. To me this is an Ok film but I’m just thankful that they didn’t hurt the pet dachshund when they kept hinting at it throughout the film.
