The Last Gangster (1937) Rated NR

Last GangsterA gangster gets prison for ten years just as he discovers his wife’s pregnant. He becomes bitter after she divorces him and remarried. Starring Edward G. Robinson, James Stewart, Rose Stradner

This film is one of those run of the mill films. There isn’t any thing that grabs you and holds your interest but it does tell a great story. The star, Edward G. Robinson, gives a performance as a gangster who just wants his son to follow in his footsteps but also wants his son to be come a man whom he can be proud of. James Stewart plays the stepdad. This is one of Stewart’s earlier films which doesn’t showcase his talents to the best but it is still a Jimmy Stewart performance. I would say about this film its one to see but it won’t leave in impression.
