R.I.P.D. (2013) Rated PG-13

RIPDBased on the comic book, Rest In Peace Department by Peter M. Lenkov. Detective Nick Walker gets killed on the job and then is recruited to the R.I.P.D. (Rest in Peace Department) which go after spirits who refused to pass over. Starring Jeff Bridges, Ryan Reynolds, Kevin Bacon, Mary-Louise Parker

This movie is very reminiscent of Ghostbusters and Men in Black. I think if it was made before Men in Black, it might have had a chance to be great. The film is very predictable and it has a been there seen that feel to it. The story, I thought fit the film and it was good for what you have. Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges came across as if they’d done these parts before. Mary-Louise Parker was the shocker, I almost didn’t recognize her. She brought her A-game but it wasn’t enough to pull the film through its sluggishness.
