Elysium (2013) Rated R

elysiumIn the near future the rich live on a space station and the poor stay on Earth. A man chooses to bring equality to both worlds. Starring Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, Diego Luna

I watched this film mainly because in the trailer I thought they had said something about the main character dying. I thought, “wow, this could be interesting.” It wasn’t it. That trailer lied and now I can’t find said trailer. So maybe I made that up. In this film, I believe the director was trying to point out the flaws in a present situation but making it a sci-fi and futuristic film it lost its punch. The health care and class issues we have now doesn’t fold well in this futuristic film. I don’t want to think about how bad it’s going to get before people demand a change. And seeing that on-screen when it’s happening now isn’t much fun to watch. This film is a pass for me.
