The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) Rated R

wolf of wall streetBased on the true story of Jordan Belfort, who rises through the ranks of wall street by corruption. Based on Belfort’s book by the same name. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Margot Robbie, Matthew McConaughey, Kyle Chandler, Rob Reiner, Jon Bernthal, Jon Favreau, Jean Dujardin

This is a fast paced, over the top story. It very much glorifies the excess of Belfort’s lifestyle. We don’t get to see the downfall of this life. They did talk about sexual transmitted diseases but his drug use doesn’t seem to be a problem and if he was taking that much drugs it would be an interesting rehab. None of which was covered in this film. I know it was long enough as it is but it still didn’t grab me or make me care for the guy. I hated him through out. Which I guess wasn’t so bad. I would have like to see more of the FBI’s investigation, anything other than the over indulgence and no consequences for their actions. It was a party film.
