Dorothy returns to the tornado ridden farm to only be whisked back to Oz to help the Lion, Scarecrow, and Tin Man. Based on the book, Dorothy of Oz by Roger Stanton Baum. Starring Dan Aykroyd, Jim Belushi, Kelsey Grammer, Lea Michele, Martin Short, Bernadette Peters, Oliver Platt, Hugh Dancy
This is not L. Frank Baum’s Oz. I mean, Candy Country and Dainty China Country all with a china wall. lol. It’s almost like they wanted to make fun of Oz and not enjoy the magic of it. I know this is more the book than the poor movie that adapted the book to screen. The movie is another case, the music was enjoyable but seemed miss placed in the story line. I’m still singing some of those songs especially, Even Then. Even with the A-list voices to the characters, I still couldn’t over the absurdest of the movie. I guess the movie’s cute for kids but if you are an Oz fan than this movie falls short.
