Before I Go to Sleep (2014) Rated R

Before I go to sleepA woman wakes up everyday  remembering nothing about her past, until she discovers truths that make her question everyone around her. The film is adapted from  Before I Go to Sleep: A Novel by S. J. Watson.  Starring Nicole Kidman, Colin Firth, Mark Strong, Anne-Marie Duff

This film is proof that you should never, ever have an affair, and why would you want to, when Colin Firth is your husband? Firth adeptly plays the grieving husband who has to remind his wife who he is every day.  This is no lighthearted 50 First Dates, mind you, although the premise sounds similar. Nicole Kidman is perfection, portraying the addled wife, and Mark Strong is convincing as the doctor trying to help Kidman regain her memory. Which man should she trust? The film takes you on twists and turns, making Kidman’s confused character unsure of whom to believe. There are some continuity problems with the plot line, but the film effectively keeps the audience in suspense, equally unsure of whom to trust. This is a must watch film.
