The Best of Me (2014) Rated PG-13

Best of MeA pair of high school sweethearts meet up again when a mutual friend passes away. Based on Nicholas Sparks’ novel  by the same name. Starring Michelle Monaghan, James Marsden, Luke Bracey, Gerald McRaney

This movie was a disappointment, as so many of Sparks’ stories have become for me, of late.  I have been a fan of his for a long time and read many books of his (not including this one), but I am tired of death plaguing each story, and this one is no exception.  Granted, the suspense in finding out who will die and how is enough to keep one’s attention, but I like happily ever after, and this wasn’t it.  This movie is a pass for me.
