We are Marshall (2006) Rated PG

We are MarshallWhen a plane crash takes the lives of most of the Marshall football players, coaches, and fans, Marshall makes a comeback with a new coach and the remaining players. Starring Matthew McConaughey, Matthew Fox, Anthony Mackie, David Strathairn, Ian McShane, Kate Mara, January Jones, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Wes Brown.

This film tugs at your heart-strings as the team struggles to get back on their feet after their loss. However, the film doesn’t focus to much on football as a sport or on the town’s response to the tragedy. McConaughey’s character always seems to know just what to say and how get his way in every decision. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this as a sports film, but it is worth a watch to understand the story of loss that Marshall went through.
