A mother secretly plays matchmaker for her daughter. Starring Beau Garrett, Brenda Strong, Benjamin Ayres.
Well, here we have another overdone story from Hallmark with all the typical fluff and little substance. I’ve seen Garrett before in Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, which I might add is a fun show to watch. She seems just right for Hallmark, good enough to be enjoyable, but not really star quality.
My main point of contention is with the ending, when Garrett discovers her mother played the matchmaker. I think she totally overreacted, which was unnecessary, given that she fell in love with the guy and he fell in love with her, too. Who cares how you got together? Just be thankful you found him. Even with a solid performance by Garrett, I still say this film is a pass.
