Joy (2015) Rated PG-13

joyJoy becomes the founder and matriarch of a family business dynasty. Based on the true story of Joy Mangano, the inventor of the Miracle Mop. Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper, Edgar Ramirez, Diane Ladd, Virginia Madsen, Isabella Rossellini, Susan Lucci, Melissa Rivers

I know this film has gotten some bad reviews but I rather enjoyed. Sure, it rushes the story a little and it doesn’t go as in-depth as it should but when it comes to life it isn’t always a quick fix. The acting was phenomenal especially Virginia Madsen as Joy’s mother. I didn’t recognize her. It was a phenomenal performance. It’s a story of a woman who had the odds stacked against her and she over came them. It’s a story worth watching.
