The Love Bug (1968) Rated G

A race car driver finds a Volkswagen bug that seems to have a mind of its own. Starring Dean Jones, Michele Lee, David Tomlinson, Buddy Hackett.

This Disney classic is such fun to watch. Jones is wonderful as Jim, the man who ends up with Herbie. He doesn’t really want him, but Herbie wants Jim. Herbie is truly a love bug: he’s a matchmaker at heart, and he loves his owner. Tomlinson plays his typical Disney character, and Hackett is his bumbling sidekick. What makes this film extra special, though, is the cinematography. Even though it is filmed on a sound lot, the lighting and photography are beautiful, especially when Jim goes looking for Herbie. A delightful film to watch over and over, this one is definitely worth a watch.
