Abraham (1993) Rated NR

The Old Testament story of Abraham and his family as  they are tested by God. Starring Andrea Prodan, Gottfried John, Kevin McNally, Richard Harris, Barbara Hershey.

This portrayal of the life of Abraham did an excellent job of incorporating both the historical and biblical aspects of the story. It’s not perfect, as it does take some creative liberties with parts of the story that are not as well developed, but I loved Harris as Abraham. Hershey wasn’t the best choice, but she held her own. It is unfortunate that they caked her with so much makeup, though; it distracted me from her performance. Although I enjoyed this miniseries, there were enough liberties taken to make it hard for me to recommend. It is almost worth a watch.
