‘Twas the Night Before Christmas (1974) Rated TV-G

When a town learns that Santa isn’t coming to visit them this year because of an insulting letter, they band together to make it right. Starring Joel Grey, Tammy Grimes, John McGiver, George Gobel.

This is the perfect retelling of the classic book Twas the Night Before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore. It has just the right amount of sweetness that is so perfect about old holiday animation films. The story of forgiveness and making things right when you have done something wrong is a message we all can use, and it is perfectly told here. Then, there is the brilliant soundtrack from Maury Laws, with songs that make you want to sing along. (My favorite is Even a Miracle Needs a Hand.) This is one film that needs to be added to your Christmas movie collection every year.
