Truth or Dare (2018) Rated PG-13

A harmless game of Truth or Dare becomes deadly when someone lies or doesn’t complete their dare. Starring Lucy Hale, Tyler Posey, and Violett Beane.

When a group of friends head to Mexico and play an innocent game of Truth or Dare, they unleash a demon that wants to play with them. This is a typical horror film with the usual cliches. While it does have a few some small plot holes (didn’t the other group of kids research the history of the mission?), the story pulls you in. For me, the film doesn’t start on a good foot. The two girls seem to be best friends, but one is twisting the other’s arm to skip out on her plans to do Habitat for Humanity and go to Mexico instead. I thought that if she were really a best friend, she would build houses with her rather than trick her into going to Mexico – that left a bad taste in my mouth. The ending is even freakier than the rest of the film; I think it was the scariest part of all. This movie is not worth a watch.
