Nine Days That Changed the World (2010) Rated NR

A documentary of the role that Pope John Paul II had in the fall of Communism in Europe and the rise of the labor union, Solidarity. Starring Callista Gingrich, Newt Gingrich, and Pope John Paul II.

This documentary follows the forgotten and unknown history of the Pope’s part in changing the world. The film features a number of interviews among experts who have been personally affected by the pontiff. What makes this film special is that while there isn’t much footage of the Pope’s visit to Poland, the Polish Bishops gave video cameras to the people in the audience to film the visit, thus, giving us amateur videography of the gathering. Most of the film we have of the visit has never been seen. This is a wonderful documentary in which the Pope reminds us that nothing can come between God and us, including our government. This film is worth the watch.
