I’m not sure if this film is better or worse than the 2000 version. There are good and bad things about this film. For one, the acting is a little bit better, but the script is worse. I still really wish they could bring these books to life, but I have yet to see it done well. I think that the film could have done better with a better script and actors that really believe in their characters. I actually thought the film wasn’t as preachy as it should have been; I felt the film glossed over the religious tones. I get it – you’re trying to find a happy medium, but the books are Christian, so the film should stick to the Christian story. This film is not worth a watch.
