The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 (2014) Rated PG-13

Katniss finds herself in District 13 after the end of the games where she becomes the symbol of the Mockingjay. Based on the book by Suzanne Collins. Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth.

This film is different from the others. It doesn’t have the action that the others do – it’s more character driven. The film shows the torment inside of Katniss as she rescues Peeta. The storyline comes from the last book in the Hunger Games series, which is spilt into two films. This installment doesn’t have a conclusion due to the fact that the next film is the end of the series. The film focuses more on the political side of the story compared to the first two films. I’ve never read the book, but I will say that this film is typical teen fare and is still worth a watch.
