A drummer is accepted into a prestigious music conservatory where his teacher will stop at nothing to push his students to greatness. Starring Miles Teller, J.K. Simmons, and Paul Reiser.
This movie is intense. Simmons pushes the boy and the audience to the point that you wonder where the limits are. The cinematography is beautifully shot; although, this film leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Hoping that the teacher would get his comeuppance, he’s a bully that the film seems to highlight. The film totes to the mantra that to be successful, you need to push beyond your limits to get there, and I’m not sure the teacher gets what he deserves. This film is disturbing but worth it.
