The lives of a young couple intertwine with the life of an older man who’s reliving a romance of his own. Based on the book by Nicholas Sparks. Starring Britt Robertson, Scott Eastwood, and Alan Alda.
This is one of the better-adapted films from Nicholas Sparks. It has more of a twist on the traditional recipe of a Sparks story. I always enjoy a Sparks story, but they are getting rather typical. This one has the usual elements: young boy meets young girl, they fall in love, then something tears them apart. Although, this story has the typical romance with the love of the rodeo in the background. Then you have the love affair from the 1940s that shows what real love looks like, and the intertwining of the two loves makes the twist all the more pleasant. It’s one that’s worth a watch.
