Two men, one English and one French, fall in love with a woman during the French Revolution. Based on the novel by Charles Dickens. Starring François Civil, Mirren Mack, Kit Harington.
There are a couple of things going for this series, and there are a couple of things that don’t work as well. While it’s good to have inclusive shows and it works for some, it does not work for a historical show. To disregard history and not make it an alternate universe makes it blatantly obvious. I believe I’ve read the novel A Tale of Two Cities, although, it’s been several years. While they highlight a storyline of the novel as well as the great writing of Dickens, it lacks the depth of the story. The series is good for the taste of the novel but does not give you the full theme. The ending is what makes this story worth it. This series is worth the watch.
