The Christmas Blessing (2005) Rated TV-G

A doctor returns home where a romance blooms and his past haunts him. Based on the book by Donna VanLiere. Starring Neil Patrick Harris, Rebecca Gayheart, and Angus T. Jones.

This is the sequel to The Christmas Shoes, where we follow the shoes to another person who needs to be reminded of the Christmas spirit. The linking of the two films, however, does not sync well. It’s almost like an afterthought. The story has so much going on that it loses focus, leading to plot holes or missed scenes. The acting is ok, but it’s not the best. It tries to hold to the Christmas spirit, but I feel that it gets lost in the melodrama. This film is a mess of a sequel, which is unfortunate because I would have liked it to be more of a sequel than it is. It’s not worth a watch.
