Flower Shop Mystery: Mum’s the Word (2016) Rated TV-G

A NYC lawyer returns home to her small town, where on the opening day of her flower shop, her car gets hit by a person leaving the scene of a murder. Based on the books by Kate Collins. Starring Brooke Shields, Brennan Elliott, and Beau Bridges.

I have not read the series of Flower Shop Mysteries; although, I’ve heard from those who have that this film is a disappointment because the film series does not follow the books, nor do the characters. Since I haven’t read the books, my review is based on the movie alone. Mostly, this film is what you asked for; it’s a typical Hallmark mystery film series. There isn’t anything that sets it apart from the others, but it wasn’t the worst film. I enjoyed Shields and Elliott; although, I didn’t really feel their chemistry. Beau Bridges is as always a great watch. As this is a typical Hallmark mystery, it doesn’t have any violence or blood – it’s just a great mystery to solve. This film is worth a watch.
