Zootopia (2016) Rated PG

In a city where animals have human-like characteristics, a bunny cop and a con artist fox must uncover a conspiracy. Starring Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, and Idris Elba.

This film is a fun watch; however, nothing really makes the film stand out. It has a plot that is like any other crime films, and the characters have their traits that are typical to the plot of the film. What it does have is the humor based mostly on the animals’ human traits, as if they were humans. The film touches on the bigger topics of you can be whatever you want and overcoming all barriers to achieve what you will. All this to make the world better through diversity and our differences. That’s all well, but it doesn’t go deeper – it’s just a scratch on the surface. It brings up lots of questions for children, and it’s good to discuss these with kids because there’s always two sides to the coin. Thus, the film is worth a watch.
