The Bronze (2015) Rated R

A washed-up former Olympic Bronze medalist reluctantly trains an up and coming gymnast. Starring Melissa Rauch, Gary Cole, Thomas Middleditch, Sebastian Stan, Cecily Strong, Haley Lu Richardson, and Craig Kilborn.

This film is interesting. It’s one of the better written films for a comedy. I really enjoyed Rauch’s character as a washed-up celebrity gymnastic champion. However, she has a really bad potty mouth, which I hated. It was a little too much. The film has heart, as she tries to milk her status for what it’s worth. She isn’t the nicest person and the film is mostly dark, but it does have its moments. The characters seem to very realistic. The script isn’t that funny, although it tries to be. The story so much reminds me of the Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan drama. However, the film is not based on any real story. Although this film has a lot of problems, it was a nice surprise from Rauch and her husband, Winston Rauch. The film has some positive moments and some not so inspiring ones, making it not worth a watch.
