Young MacGyver works for an organization within the U.S. government, where he uses his unconventional problem-solving skills. Starring Lucas Till, Tristin Mays, and Justin Hires.
I watched the first episode of this show, and, for the most part, it does bring back the nostalgia of the original show. While it has the spoofs that MacGyver is known for, it lacks the dynamic of its predecessor. Till is cute, but he has a brashness that doesn’t suit the character. The show is faster-paced than the original; MacGyver quickly does his invention and, voilà, he escapes. The show also has behind-the-scenes drama with the show runner, and it also went very political, which made it less enjoyable. This series is not worth the watch.
