The 2022 Blindspot Film Series, Part 7
Here are my Blindspot films for 2022. For those who don’t know, the term Blindspot is given to films that you haven’t seen. Last year, I was unable to watch any films on my list. I am frustrated with myself in that I, again, this year was unable to watch any films on my list. I believe this is mostly because my list has a number of films that are hard to come by. Although, the new Top Gun film was pushed back a year due to the pandemic. Maybe this year I will do better – but don’t count on it. Let me know what your Blindspot films are – add them to the comments.
Top Gun: Maverick (2022) Rated PG-13
After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete Mitchell is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1997) Rated NR
The year is 1886, and New England’s fishing harbors are the scene for a “creature of unknown origin” destroying ships at sea. It is the job of Professor Pierre Arronax, a marine expert, and Ned Land, the iron-willed sailor, to learn the truth of the “monster” roaming the seas. The great novelist, Jules Verne, described this perilous journey to the darkest depths of the sea with Captain Nemo aboard the Nautilus.

With the help of the singer and dancer Dixie Leonhard, US-Entertainer Eddie Sparks wants to bring some fun to the soldiers during World War II. Becoming a perfect team, they tour from North Africa to the Pacific to act for “the boys.” Later they continue their work, but when the author Silver gets involved with McCarthy’s campaign and is fired by Eddie, Dixie turns away from him too.
Thunder Road (2004) Rated NR
The greatest thing about the Cub Scouts is the annual Pinewood Derby. While young Billy has visions of speed and beauty for his pinewood race car, his father becomes ridiculously obsessed with crossing the finish line first. A young boy struggles to hang on to a dream as his father hijacks his Cub Scout experience.
