X-Men (2000) Rated PG-13

In a world where mutants exist and are discriminated against, there are two groups of mutants that clash. Starring Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, and Ian McKellen.

This film is a great set up to the X-Men franchise. It starts with the story, and each character has a background story. This isn’t the best action film out there, but it does get its point across. The special effects don’t overpower the story or the characters. The theme of X-Men is that outsiders just want to belong; it’s the life blood of the franchise. This film sets it up nicely. The film may not be better than the comics, but it does take you for a ride. This film is worth the watch.
