X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) Rated PG-13

In the 1980s, the mutants fought against another mutant that wanted world destruction. Starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, and Jennifer Lawrence.

This film sets up the storyline and the characters well in the first half of the movie. While the evil mutant Apocalypse wants to destroy the world, it’s up to Professor Charles Xavier and the young mutants to stop him. This film also gives us the backstory to some of the mutants, and the most interesting of all was Magneto’s story. I would say that backstory alone is enough to carry the whole film. This film really puts good versus evil in the spotlight. The story in this film is what carries it. For once, there is a good story along with the fighting to make sense of it all. The film was entertaining, making it worth the watch.
