Louisa May Alcott’s account of her life with her three sisters in Concord, Massachusetts during the Civil War. Based on her book, Little Women. Starring Meredith Baxter, Susan Dey, and Ann Dusenberry.
This is one of the best versions of the book, Little Women, that I’ve seen. Although, it’s not the most historically accurate. The miniseries showcases the top actresses of the 1970s playing the sisters. The film is brilliant in technicolor with warm colors instead of black and white or drudgery of lighting. This film series is known as one that covers the novel in more detail than other versions. It’s also the one that made me like the novel. The story unfolds at a nice pace without force, and Jo comes off as a woman with dreams rather than a shrewd overbearing woman. This miniseries is worth the watch.
