A drifter works his way up from a carnival worker to a psychic medium when a psychiatrist tries to expose him. Based on the novel by William Lindsay Gresham. Starring Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett, and Toni Collette.
This is a remake of a 1947 film, and it has everything going for it – great production and a slew of top actors. It’s brilliantly written, but it’s rather long. It’s a film that loops itself around – what comes around goes around, and this film proves it. The sets and the cinematography are beautiful. While it is beautiful, the film is rather long and tedious. The acting is as it should be – a cast that knows what is needed for the scene. It’s not a bad film, but it’s not the best either. It’s not worth the watch.
