This series follows Sam Phillips as he starts up Sun Records which brings us the talent of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and many more. Starring Chad Michael Murray, Margaret Anne Florence, and Keir O’Donnell.
This show had so much promise, but its focus on the stories that it wanted to tell was lacking. It’s like they had no idea what they wanted to focus on. I thought the idea of following Phillips would be good, but I think the showrunners made the mistake of focusing too much on the famous characters rather than the creator. Also, it lacks the realism of the history of Sun Records. Sun Records has a history in all genres of music, but the show doesn’t follow the truth of it. It’s a struggle to watch. That is the downfall of the show, making it not worth the watch.
