Hot Shots! (1991) Rated PG-13

A parody of Top Gun, where a unstable fighter pilot must over come the ghost of his father and save a mission. Starring Charlie Sheen, Cary Elwes, and Valeria Golino.

This film is a wonderful parody of Top Gun; it does throw in a couple of other movies in, but the main one is Top Gun. It’s true that the acting by Sheen and Elwes makes the film. Sheen takes the serious side of the comedy, and Elwes knows his timing. The film also has a great story, so we aren’t just laughing at jokes. Of course, some jokes were not funny but others make you laugh. I like that the jokes aren’t always about body fluids. This is one of the smart comedies. It’s worth the watch.
