Will (TNT) Rated TV-MA

A reinvented life of William Shakespeare when he comes to London to make a name for himself as a playwright. Starring Laurie Davidson, Olivia DeJonge, and Ewen Bremner.

I was looking forward to this series. I’ve never been a Shakespeare fan, but I thought I might enjoy a fictional tale of his life. While I’m sure theatre life during the time may have been that barbaric, the show revolves around the graphic and immoral lifestyles of the those involved in it. It was a display of disgusting and blatant behaviors. They could’ve made it more cinematic by following the idea that less is more. That would have created more intrigue in the show. Then  you wouldn’t have just as much trouble understanding the storyline. As it was, I couldn’t care less about the characters or even the story they were trying to tell. It didn’t help that they tried to make the show updated with their characters. Nothing brought Will Shakespeare to life. It just made a joke and mockery of his stories and life. Granted, Shakespeare is a figure of mystique because there is not much on his life other than his plays. This show is so bad that I wouldn’t watch it again. It’s not worth the watch the first time around.
