Omen IV: The Awakening (1991) Rated UR

A couple adopts a child that they know nothing about and learn that she is next in line to be the antichrist. Starring Faye Grant, Michael Woods, and Michael Lerner.

To me, a true horror film takes on something that could happen in real life. That’s why the original Omen film is so scary – because it could be reality. This sequel doesn’t bode well in the horror department. First, the storyline is farfetched. For instance, it’s completely fictional; there’s nothing biblically sound in it. It also has a few plot lines with plot holes. The acting, however, isn’t bad; I was quite impressed with Asia Vieira as the young girl who’s second in line to be the antichrist. But then there’s the strange inclusion of the occult. I don’t even know why it’s there. All in all, this film is not worth the watch.
