Singularity (2017) Rated PG-13

In the year, 2020, a computer believes that humans are the biggest threat to Earth. A century later, that same computer is trying to track down the last remaining human stronghold. Starring Julian Schaffner, John Cusack, and Carmen Argenziano.

This is not a great film. The script isn’t good; the acting isn’t good, and the CGI is one of the worst I’ve seen. While the film is the first for the director, it’s also low budget, which shows. Although the budget doesn’t necessarily make or break a film, what breaks this film are the script and acting. The film isn’t consistent with the actor; Cusack is only present in the film enough to use his name for advertisement. The idea of the film, though good, isn’t realistic. It also feels more like the film is intended to scare us rather than serve as a cautionary tale. This film is not worth the watch.
