Last Stand at Saber River (1997) Rated TV-14

A Confederate veteran returns home to find that he must reclaim his land from Yankee outsiders who illegally occupy it. Based on the book by Elmore Leonard. Starring Tom Selleck, Suzy Amis, and Rachel Duncan.

The film is a classic western where the bad guys and the good guys battle it out for the land. It highlights the conflicts associated with coming home from war and the changes that impact families, both those serving and those at home. It’s definitely well written, thanks in part to Leonard. The film has the conflict and thrills you’d expect from a western as Selleck’s character, Cable, transitions back to everyday life while trying to protect his family. This film is worth a watch.
