A Bush Christmas (1983) Rated G

Bush christmasThe Thompson family are struggling to make ends meet in the Australian outback. Then the unthinkable happens two vagabonds come and steal their prize race horse. The kids band together and go after the horse thefts. Based on the novel by Ralph Smart and Mary Cathcart Borer. It’s also a remake of the 1947 Bush Christmas movie. Starring John Ewart, John Howard, Mark Spain, Nicole Kidman

This is a delightful film. Yes, the kids seem over the top but I do believe that kids would have done what they could to get their horse back, they would. It’s a movie of its time. It’s a quintessential Australian film. It’s not a perfect film but it was fun to watch. I think this is a film to watch and not just because it was someone’s first film. Although, it was nice to watch her cutting her chops but this isn’t the reason you should watch this movie. It’s a good, clean family film about a family doing what they could to make a great Christmas even when they are down on their luck. Please check out this film.
