Oh, my, Disney went political. This whole movie was the democrat’s and republican’s duking it out. The film is proof that U.S. politics haven’t changed in 50 years. We are still bickering back and forth all the while thinking the other side are idiots. The Sherman Brothers musical talents were used in this film and I have to say the songs weren’t the best. I did like what Richard Sherman explanation on how the songs get chosen in the film. That there is more than putting words and notes together. The downfall of this film is that it’s very political not that it was leaning to the left or right but that this is a children’s film. It’s a great learning tool about politics and even with the Shermans’ catchy tunes. The music sometimes didn’t fit. A little film trivia about this film, it was Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell’s first film together.
