What to watch this summer? Here’s a few shows to check out.
Ghost Hunters Academy/Ghost Hunters International (Syfy)
The Academy started June 2nd and International starts July 14. Now, I’m not a big fan of either of these shows but I love Ghost Hunters. The Academy tries to recruit new members for the TAPS team from the Ghost Hunters. Which wasn’t much fun to watch last season but this season I believe Jason Hawes from the original will be making some appearances. The International to me loses most of the appeal that I have for Ghost Hunters. I love the premise that they are trying to debunk most of the cases but on the International they almost always claim the place as hunted. Even though they don’t hold up to the original show I enjoy watching them.
This show is based on a book from Stephan King. We follow a shrewd FBI agent with a missing past who arrives in the small town of Haven, Maine, to solve the murder of a local ex-con only to discover that the curious enclave is a longtime refuge for people with supernatural powers that holds a lot of secrets, including to her own past. The show will begin airing July 9th.
Christina Hawthorne is Chief Nursing Officer heading a group of nurses at Richmond Trinity Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. We watch Hawthorne and her assembly of RN’s as she helps run the hospital. The show’s second season starts June 22.
Hell’s Kitchen (Fox)
World renowned chef Gordon Ramsay puts 12 aspiring young chefs through rigorous and devastating challenges at his restaurant in Hollywood, “Hell’s Kitchen”, to decide which of them will win the restaurant of their dreams. Their dreams are quickly becoming nightmares. Airs June 1st. I love this show!
Losing it with Jillian (NBC)
In the hour-long series, Jillian Michaels will tackle the obesity epidemic of American families head on as she travels across the country to transform one family at a time. In the series, Michaels will be moving in with a different family each week to help change their diet and exercise habits. She will focus on getting to the bottom of the issues each family member faces and will arm them with the tools necessary to make life-altering changes. The families are in for a huge wake up call as Michaels will show America that anyone can make a change. I hope you are a Jillian Michaels fan.
