Hawaii Films 2011

In honor of my last trip to Hawaii, here is a list of films made in Hawaii.

(2004) Rated PG-13

Henry is a player skilled at seducing women. But when this veterinarian meets Lucy, a girl with a quirky problem when it comes to total recall, he realizes it’s possible to fall in love all over again … and again, and again. That’s because the delightful Lucy has no short-term memory, so Henry must woo her day after day until he finally sweeps her off her feet.

On my second trip to Hawaii, I actually visited the Sea Life Park that is featured in the film. I have to tell you the pictures don’t lie. It’s beautiful there. On my third trip, I visited Matsumoto‘s where Adam Sandler has also partaken of the shaved ice. I do believe Daniel Dae Kim also had some shaved iced there as well.

 Pearl Harbor (2001) Rated PG-13

The lifelong friendship between Rafe McCawley and Danny Walker is put to the final test when the two ace fighter pilots become entangled in a love triangle with beautiful Naval nurse Evelyn Johnson. But the rivalry between the friends-turned-foes is immediately put on hold when they find themselves at the center of Japan’s devastating attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941.

 South Pacific (1958) Rated NR

Sparks fly when Nellie, a naïve Navy nurse stationed in the South Seas, meets worldly French plantation owner Emile, in this Oscar-winning Rodgers and Hammerstein musical set in a tropical paradise. Meanwhile, in a then-daring depiction of interracial relationships, a young American officer falls for a beautiful island native. The two couples from worlds apart grapple with love at a time of war.

 Lost (2004-2010) Rated TV-PG

Stranded on a tropical island after their plane crashes 1,000 miles off course, a group of castaways must learn to survive in their new home, avoid the gigantic something crashing through the trees and decide whether they’re really alone. Matthew Fox, Evangeline Lilly, Terry O’Quinn, Dominic Monaghan and Naveen Andrews head the diverse ensemble cast in this landmark series, which won an Emmy for Best Drama.

The one thing about Oahu is every where you turn it’s the set of Lost. They filmed all over the island and on a number of beaches. Keep your eyes open and you’ll recognized something.

 Jurassic Park  (1993) Rated PG-13

A multimillionaire unveils a new theme park where visitors can see dinosaurs cloned using advanced DNA technology. But when an employee tampers with the security system, the dinosaurs escape, forcing the visitors to fight for their survival. Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern star in this thrilling, action-packed blockbuster from acclaimed director Steven Spielberg and based on the novel by Michael Crichton.

Again whatcha see is whatcha get. Beautiful.
