The Heiress (1949)

Rated NR

Plain Jane heiress Catherine lives with her detached father until she meets handsome social Morris. Morris Townsend whose actions seem questionable.

A great movie. Based on the play by Henry James “Washington Square“, the movie takes the play to a whole new level. Olivia De Havilland performance won her second Best Actress Oscar for portraying Catherine. Which she rightly deserved. One of the best performances of a lifetime. Montgomery Clift,  who played Morris was just as sensational as Olivia. It’s an overall, perfect script, acting and cinematography. Watch this film.
