Sybil (2007)

SybilRated NR

Suffering from dissociative identity disorder, Sybil seeks treatment from a psychiatrist after attempting suicide. During the sessions, Sybil recalls the physical and sexual harm inflicted on her as a child by her mentally ill mother. Starring Jessica Lange, Tammy Blanchard, Ron White

This wasn’t a very well done adaption of the book Sybil by Flora Rheta Schreiber. It was entertaining despite the fact that it isn’t the 1976 version. Joseph Sargent tells the story of Sybil hastily and doesn’t give us a chance to get to know the characters or to fully understand what is happening. The performances of Tammy Blanchard and Jessica Lange were what made the movie enjoyable to watch. It’s the performances that makes it worth a watch.
