My Own Love Song (2010)

Rated PG-13

A songwriter embarks on a cross-country journey with her best friend. Starring Renée Zellweger, Madeline Zima, Nick Nolte, Forest Whitaker

I was quite surprise by this film. Surprised bad, not good. With Renée Zellweger, Forest Whitaker and directed by Olivier Dahan, I thought this can’t be half bad. It was. This was Olivier’s first film after the award nominee  La Vie En Rose and I was hoping for so much more. I’m sure Renée did hope so too, since she played a handicapped singer. Renee’s lip singing was the worst I have ever seen on camera. The story goes from here to there without any real connect. The plot is just crazy. It could have been so much better. It felt like everyone lost their heads on this one and just decided to throw in what ever they liked, just for the heck of it. Please, please, don’t see this film.
